What is the best time to go?
Mid-October thru mid-April are the best times to visit Patagonia.
If you are planning on visiting the Atacama Desert, you probably
want to avoid November thru February, because the weather is
very hot at this time. Easter Island is great any time of the
year.
Do I need a passport or visa?
If you are a U.S. or Canadian citizen you only need a valid passport.
Citizens of other countries should check with the Chilean and Argentinian
consulates.
Do I need shots?
No special precautions need to be taken when traveling to Argentina
or Chile. It is recommended, however, that you drink only bottled
water while traveling.
How about money?
Chile and Argentina each use their own pesos. Most ATM cards work
in the machines found all over Chile and Argentina.
